wedding proposal in Florence

My girlfriend, Nadina, booked us our dream trip to Italy just after Christmas. I decided that it would be the perfect time to propose. While looking at the different cities we would be travelling too I decided that Florence was the perfect location. After much thought I decided that I wanted to capture the moment when I asked her to marry me. I found Duccio online after some time reviewing wedding photographers in Florence. I sent him an email explaining my situation and what I wanted to do. He replied immediately, and began aiding me in my quest for the perfect proposal. I told him that I wanted a venue that would be more private and intimate. He came up with a few suggestions and gave me descriptions of the different venues. I decided that the Giardino Bardini would be the perfect location for my important moment. Over the next few months Duccio worked with me to make my experience as stress free as possible.

We were travelling from Venice to Florence and would be in Florence for 4 days. Nadina and I were arriving on a Thursday night and would be leaving to our next destination Tuesday morning. The plan was to meet Duccio at the Giardino Bardini on Friday afternoon for our session. Unfortunately, the forecast in Florence during the time we were there would be rain every day. As you could imagine I was beginning to panic. Duccio was so amazing and accommodating. He was constantly re-checking the weather forecast with hopes that it may change. Once we realized that the only sunny day would be on the Monday he re-adjusted his schedule to accommodate Nadina and I. To this day I am so grateful for the service that was provided by Duccio. The day before our session, Duccio contacted me and confirmed that the Giardino Bardini was open on Monday and that the weather was going to be sunny. However, upon arriving at the Giardino Bardini on Monday morning we were given the disastrous news that the gardens would be closed that day. Somehow the person Duccio spoke with prior forgot to inform him of this closure. As I was in a state of complete disbelief and despair, Duccio jumped to action. He ensured us that this was not an issue and we could continue with our session within the city along the Arno River. His plan was to start at the Ponte Vecchio and work our way along the river. Nadina and I had an amazing time. Duccio made us feel relaxed and comfortable. I ended up asking Nadina to marry me on the Ponte Santa Trinita while Duccio captured our special moment. Even though my proposal didn’t go as planned I couldn’t have asked for anything better.
